A busy week
This past week was really busy! We went out for lunch with my folks on Father's Day and I didn't plan what to eat well. Consequently, I used 28 Flex Points. Yikes!!! The week further went off track with an extra busy day on Wednesday, which included a baby being born to one of my good friends in the very wee hours of the morning (welcome to the world, Henry! <3), and a doctor appointment for Tatiana. Once all was said and done, I have no idea what I ate that day. Sometimes simply living life is far too important to worry with such details. To cap it all off, Jonathan and I had a date last night, and went out for dessert. I will always count having a date with my wonderful husband one of those living life moments that are too important to worry about silly little details like calories! Despite all this, I still lost .2 pounds. Yes, there was a decimal point in that number. I didn't lose an amazing amount of weight this past week, but I did lose! I'm going to attribute that to the fact that when I had used practically ALL of my Flex Points at the beginning of the week that I didn't give up. On Monday and Tuesday I stayed perfectly within my Points allotment. Even yesterday, I had 5 Points left after supper. I just had dessert. And it was worth it!

Wow! Time flies!
These last two weeks have been busy, so I haven't had a chance to update my progress. Last Friday I weighed in after a little less than a week on Weight Watchers. I had lost three pounds. WooHoo!!! This morning at my weigh in, I had lost 3.2 pounds, for a total of 6.2. I am now down to 171 pounds. I'm definitely counting this as a HUGE success, as the various activities that had me super busy, also took me away from home and eating out a lot, which isn't always easy to do when dieting. Jonathan comes home today after 2 1/2 weeks on the road, so we'll see how long it takes him to notice. <3

Not a problem I've encountered before
I'm having a difficult time using all my Points. Since I've been paying attention to what I'm eating, and actually measuring portions, I'm coming up short at the end of the day. This is the second day in a row now, and I'm five Points short! I hate to snack just because I'm short, but I also don't want to endanger my milk supply. My middle child weaned early because I stopped producing enough milk (I was working full time and pumping at the time, so there's probably not a huge chance of the same thing happening again) and I would just be devastated if that happened again because I was on a diet. So I guess it's time for a late night snack. Maybe some Cajun mix, almond milk and a few strawberries. That should be OK, right?

Doing well so far.
I just started selling Pampered Chef, and had a party at my place last night. Frankly, it was a bust, and left us with a lot of food that wouldn't keep, so I splurged and used 7 of my 35 Flex Points for the week. These are the kind of situations that I really like to save those extra Points for, so I don't feel too bad. Especially since I didn't use any on Sunday, and actually ended up two points under my target for today. Looking forward to weighing on Friday.

A hit and a miss.
Fail!
Last night I had two Points left after dinner for something sweet. As I considered various yummies that I could put together and still stay within my Points limit, I decided to make a smoothie of strawberries and Silk almond milk. I keep seeing the commercials for the almond milk and have been wanting to try it. The smoothie was not tasty. I don't know if the strawberries weren't sweet, or the almond milk was just gross, but I'm warning you so you don't have to try this not-so-pleasing combination. Next time I'll splurge and use one Flex Point for a half cup of ice cream!
Update: The almond milk by itself is quite tasty, it just didn't work in a smoothie with the strawberries
Yum-o!
For lunch, I heated a leftover Quorn naked cutlet with 1/3 cup organic plain yogurt over the top, and a sprinkle of Cajun seasoning for three Points. It was super tasty! Definitely a good use of leftovers.

A new vision
Because this blog was getting too dark for my tastes, I have decided instead to chronicle my postpartum weight loss. I had a cesarean section with Zachariah, and because of where the incision is, and all my stretched out skin from three pregnancies, it has left my scar rather prone to infection. I really need to lose weight to help that little problem. So, here I am, stretch marks and all, as of today. I weigh 177.2 pounds, and would like to lose about 50 of that. Please pardon the dirty glass. I have apparently run out of glass cleaner!
I'm starting on Weight Watchers using the old Flex Points system, because that's what I have, and I was very successful on it several years ago. Because I'm right on the cusp of a smaller portion bracket (150 to 174 pounds) I'm going to be starting there. I get 32 Points a day with 35 Flex Points since I'm nursing. Yay for 10 extra points! :) Friday will be my official weigh in day, because I like to weigh before the weekend. That's usually when I tend to use the bulk of my Flex Points, so Friday morning (in theory) should be my thinnest morning of the week.
Jonathan is out of town for a couple of weeks, and I'm not telling him that I've started back on Weight Watchers. I'm hoping that I will have lost a noticeable amount of weight when he gets home. Wouldn't that be fun?
